Athol Lock In
Athol High school in Northern Massachusetts reached out to me looking for help with their Lock In t-shirt design. Every year Athol High school does a “Lock In” where students come to the school after hours for activities, and they all get a shirt for the event.
Student Design
The school asked their students to draw a design for their t-shirts, and vote to decide what would be printed. This student used the bear mascot in a jail uniform, with chains framing him. It’s an awesome design! After they voted a winner, they reached out to me to clean it up and digitize it for the printers. This is the photo example of what I received to base the final design off of.
Final Design
We worked through a few rounds of drafts deciding how closely to stick to the original design. I designed one that was a vector of almost exactly what the student drew, a version cleaned up, and a version that was inspired by the original drawing fully clean. We decided to go with the middle option. Clean and clear, but obviously still the student’s artwork, especially keeping the original writing. This was so fun to collaborate on!
